Kosmos

Using Kosmos on a second computer

Your agents run on one computer. From a second computer, such as a laptop, Kosmos can open those same agents, so you can talk to them and check on them wherever you are.

What you need

Setting it up

The second computer needs to be a Mac for now (Windows is below). Do this the first time with both computers in front of you: one step happens on each.

  1. On the computer your agents run on, open Settings, then Kosmos+, and sign in.
  2. On the second computer, install Kosmos from installkosmos.com and open it.
  3. Kosmos asks how you would like to set it up on this computer. Choose Connect to agents on another computer.
  4. Sign in to Kosmos Plus with the same account.
  5. The new computer shows a code and says what to do with it. Follow its steps. They end with pressing Allow on the computer your agents run on.
  6. Your agents open. If you have more than one computer, choose which Kosmos to open.

Choosing this means the second computer does not run agents of its own. If you want both, choose Run agents on this computer and connect to agents on another computer instead.

If Kosmos already runs agents on this computer

Kosmos asks that question only until setup is finished. If you chose the wrong one, the Welcome screen's Back button returns to it, until you quit Kosmos. After setup, a computer that runs agents cannot switch to connecting only, yet.

It can still reach your other computers. Sign in to Kosmos Plus here too (Settings, then Kosmos+). Once your account has another computer, the button at the top left lists your other computers: choose one to open it. On a Mac it opens in this window, and View, then Back to This Computer, brings you back.

What works, and what does not yet

Going back to running agents

On a Mac, open the Kosmos menu at the top of the screen and choose Run agents on this computer. Kosmos then takes you through setting up agents here.
